Elena was born in St. Petersburg (Russia). She made her debut as a pianist at a very early age and was only 12 when she made her first appearance with an orchestra. After her preparatory studies at the websites school and college of music in her hometown, she studied at the Rimsky-Korsakov conservatory with Leonid Sintsev between 1988 and 1993 and received her university degree there.
