Thursday, March 21, 2013 - Leipzig: The renowned German songwriter reconnected with his childhood love for the Blüthner tone during a special factory tour before performing on a Blüthner at the famous Leipzig Gewandhaus Friday night. The visit from famed songwriter Konstantin Wecker was both an honor and a pleasure for the house of Blüthner. It came about at the request of Mr. Wecker himself, who had grown up with a Blüthner instrument. "Fifty years ago, my mother bought a Blüthner. In order to get together the money, she cleaned houses. That is something from her that I have never forgotten," explained Wecker to the brothers, Christian and Knut Blüthner-Haessler.

Ingbert Blüthner-Haessler promovierte im Juni 2012 über das Thema „Die Geschichte des Leipziger Pianofortebaus in der Zeit von 1850 bis 1914". Die Veröffentlichte Dissertation mit dem Titel „ Von Leipzig nach London“ erschien beim Franz Steiner Verlag.
