Her interpretations, aided by irreproachable technique and personal involvement, have thereby allowed audiences to become familiarised with composers such as Abel Decaux, Charles Tournemire, Paul le Flem, Vincent d'Indy, Maurice Emmanuel, Louis Aubert and Gabriel Dupont, as well as English composers Arnold Bax and York Bowen, without for all that neglecting the major Classical and Romantic repertoires in which she excels, as her discs of Chopin, Rachmaninov, Weber and Mendelssohn attest. Regurlarly invited by leading festivals in France (Bagatelle Chopin festival, Nohant) and abroad ( Husum in Germany, devoted to rare music for piano), she frequently participates in radio broadcasts on French radio.

Her discography, which includes some thirty releases, is impressive for the large number of world premiere recordings. The Diapason d'Or, Choc du Monde de la Musique and 10 de Répertoire, have rewarded her musical choices that are as original as they personal: here, Pierre Octave Ferroud and Gabriel Dupont rub shoulders with Manuel Rosenthal and Gustav Samazeuilh. She has twice received the Grand Prix de l'Académie du Disque Français: for her interpretation of the sonatas of Georges Auric, Henri Dutilleux and André Jolivet, then for the complete sonatinas of Maurice Emmanuel. Finally, her recording devoted to Arthur Lourié was awarded the Gran Prix de l'Académie Charles Cros. Concert artist and teacher, Marie Catherine Girod is also the director of a conservatory in Paris area. In all her public appearances, made by passion, enthusiasm and sensibility, Marie-Catherine Girod carries the evidence of her art to the highest levels.
