He revolutionized the art of piano making, creating instruments that are even today outstanding examples of craftsmanship and are admired for their unparalleled beauty of tone.

In this spirit, Julius Blüthner's vision and understanding of piano building have, five generations later, been transformed by his great-great grandsons into this outstanding instrument. In honor of Julius Blüthner, this special instrument commemorates his great heritage to the musical world and the continuing contribution of the Blüthner family. It is a homage to his achievements and testimony to the deep respect and gratitude of the legendary founder of Blüthner pianos.

Queen Victoria

Rosewood Polish - Model 2

The English Society in the Victorian Age of the 19th century adored the style of the Neo - Renaissance, which expressed the wealth and the feeling to belong to the most important nation of the world in a most convincing way. Queen Victoria and her princely husband Albert coined that period which was later named after them. Blüthner was at that time purveyor to the Royal Court.

The instrument designed in the style of this time, executed in precious rosewood, enhanced with hand carved ornaments and applications, with powerfully styled legs and a finely etched music desk, conveys perfectly the philosophy of that period. The styling of that instrument rightfully carries the name: Queen Victoria
